What is Kia Connect?

Kia Connect, formerly known as Kia UVO Link, is Kia's suite of connected vehicle services and features that are designed to provide you with more convenience, comfort, and connectivity. Paired with the Kia Access App, you can enjoy information and remote features from your smartphone and smartwatch.

Kia Connect helps you stay connected to your vehicle. It has remote commands to help you get prepared before you head out on your trip. It gives you useful insights about your Kia by giving timely maintenance reminders and monthly vehicle health reports. Kia Connect Features

Kia Connect has security, convenience, and safety features. These Kia Connect features1 allow you to lock or unlock your Kia, control the climate inside the cabin, set a charging time (Kia EV models only), locate your Kia, and more. Some features are controlled by the Kia Access App. Using your smartphone or smartwatch, you can remotely start your engine, adjust the climate, and view detailed vehicle information. Some of these features and services from Kia Connect technology include:

  • Find My Car2: Locate and get directions to your Kia on demand.
  • 911 Connect3: When in an accident where airbags deploy, your Kia will automatically dispatch emergency services.
  • Remote Climate Control4: You can heat and cool your Kia to the perfect temperature before you even get inside the cabin. By using the Kia Access App, you can set the temperature remotely, so you won't have to sit in an extremely cold or hot car.
  • Rear Occupant Alert5: The rear seats have sensors designed to detect movement after the doors have been locked. You will receive an alert if there is movement detected in the rear seats.
  • Remote Door Lock & Unlock4: Using the Kia Access App, you can use your smartphone or smartwatch to lock and unlock your Kia even if you are miles away.
  • Connected Routing: A new and powerful navigational feature that provides efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness by providing better routing, higher arrival time accuracy, and real-time traffic data.
  • Kia Digital Key 2 Touch (available on select Kia models): Access and drive your Kia using your smartphone or smartwatch. You can share your digital key capabilities with family and friends.
  • Wi-Fi Hotspot (powered by Verizon): Stay connected throughout your car rides with the available wi-fi hotspot on select models and trims. Check emails, play games, stream your favorite show, and more.
  • Stolen Vehicle Recovery: This feature will assist law enforcement in trying to locate and recover your stolen Kia.

How to Connect to Kia Connect

Connecting to Kia Connect is very simple and only takes a few minutes. To get connected, turn on your Kia and grab your smartphone. Follow these steps to connect to Kia Connect:
 
  1. Download the Kia Access app from the App Store. Either the Apple App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android)
  2. Launch the app and login or create an account
  3. Connect your car to the app by entering your VIN number and request a verification code to activate
  4. On your Kia vehicle dashboard, select "Activate Kia Connect"
  5. Once you receive a verification code, select "I already have a code" on the Kia touchscreen
  6. In the Kia Access App, select "I have entered the verification code". You are now connected!

The Kia Connect subscriptions start with Lite, which is the lowest package and the least expensive. As you go up in packages, they become more expensive, but they offer more features. The highest and most expensive package available is the Ultimate package.
